X2 Shoulders Arms And Abs Part Three

Midway through my third week of Phase Two in the P90X2 Journey. The fun thing about this particular workout is that my upline coach is in it. Plus he’s a musician like me. Good ol’ Jason Scheff. While two weeks ago I thought I might be thinking I’d need fou weeks of phase two, I’m now thinking I’m ready to move on. I’m keeping up with the peeps in X2 shoulders arms and abs part three which is awesome.

Normally I would have done this workout yesterday, however I was out getting some X2 skiing in. Couldn’t ask for a much better day to get outside and carve some turns. It’s even better when a friend who works at the resort offers up the tickets. Sunny with recent two feet of snow fall = awesome day. Even better is being in tip top shape so you can last the whole day carving and skiing hard.

Today I was upping reps and increasing weight. Thus I think it’s time to push this week out (two more workouts) then move into Phase Three of P90X2. Oooh, oooh, also means it’s about time to take the next round of photos. Rather than posting them as they are taken, I’ll likely post the beginning middle and end photos in the final post about this 90 day excursion.

Saying so long from X2 shoulders arms and abs part three. See ya tomorrow. Eat healthy. Eat well. Exercise with beachbody and join me in the journey to a happier healthier life!

Getting That Plyocide I Mean Plyolife

Ah yeah, Plyocide. Last week, if you can recall, I ended up bonking out in the middle of the workout. I’m pretty darn sure it was due to a couple of things. One, being on the road and not getting the same amount of nutrition as I normally would. I wasn’t eating bad, just not to my potential. Two, a lack of sleep. I normally have a schedule that is shifted from most people. I go to bed late, but I also get between seven to eight hours of sleep. Usually eight. When I’m doing that I’m getting that Plyocide I mean Plyolife type of workout without bonking out.

Today was full on. I was keeping up. I nailed all the moves. I brought it and brought it 110%. No bonking. I did get winded a few times. Apart from that it was as strong as I’ve ever felt doing any kind of plyo type workout.

When you’re feeling this good it’s amazing what you feel like you can accomplish. I know I’m going to push the next workout. I can feel it already. May mean that I’ll move into the Phase Three sooner than I anticipated.

Have you been getting that Plyocide I mean Plyolife into your day? Are you pushing it? Are you phoning it in? Let’s get you into the discussion, let me know how your workouts are going. Join me in my NRG.

X2 Shoulders Arms And Abs

Ah, today was much better than a couple of days ago. No bonking. Keeping up with the workout and feeling good about it. Unlike last week where I was on the road and didn’t have weights with me. This week’s X2 shoulders arms and abs had some weight behind it.

What a workout. So much better with weight. In fact I could really feel it. I started with a slightly lighter weight but upped the reps. Next week should allow me to increase the weight a little.

The thing I’m noticing about X2 is the size of things like my arms and pecs. They’re growing. It’s a good thing that Beachbody suggests taking measurements prior to starting the program. If I can see the results, I’m thinking the measurements are going to show the results.

It’s certainly invigorating when you get through a regimen like P90X2. Especially when you have a workout where you bonk out the day before.

The real bonus was getting through the X2 Ab Ripper. This was my best showing with it yet. I made it through the whole round, minus 4 of the final reps of the last move. So close. So close. Could the next round of abs see me get the entire routine? I think so.

Happiness is getting through a round of X2 shoulders arms and abs.

Bonking In Plyocide

Oh the humanity. Today marked my first time bonking in a P90X2 workout. That’s a little disappointing. Mostly because I haven’t bonked in a workout in a loooooooooong time. Great thing is I really pushed it hard. So while I ended up throwing up after the first plyocide workout in P90X2, this marks my first bonking in plyocide.

Sadly I was really doing well too. Keeping up. Means I have to make sure I’m really getting all the nutrition and energy I need. It’s a little tough while on the road, and maybe this is a residual effect of last week’s out of town trip. I’m not sure.

What I do know is that I’m still going to continue onward and upward with tomorrow’s recovery and mobility section. The journey hasn’t ended just because I couldn’t finish a workout. Hell no, I was pushing it harder than I have before and suddenly found a wall. A wall that will come down. I will overcome.

Are you getting your workouts in? Do you give up when you hit a wall? Do you take it in stride and continue on the next day? If not, you should be.

It’s better to have bonked than not done it at all. Saying so long and thanks for bonking in plyocide, I’m over and out to get some nutrition. See ya tomorrow.

Base Back And Ab Ripper

What a trip. GDC is pretty damn wild. It’s like NAMM on steriods for tech. Lots of stuff to see. Amazing tech going on in games and in movement tracking. I could only imagine what it could do for P90X, P90X2 and other Beachbody workouts. Especially if you were looking to perfect your movement. I saw a device yesterday that watches you in real time and can tell where you are in 3D with a single camera. Great for sports related type things. Which is something I see in the back back and ab ripper workout.

There’s a pull maneuver called Kip Chip Up. The idea is to keep the legs completely still while doing chin ups. I have a hard enough time doing them as is. To keep the legs still doesn’t make it easier. Damn them.

Intertwined each pullup move with some plyo movements. It’s like two workouts in one. Wow. It moves right along.

I like it.

Ab Ripper is steadily getting better.

Looking forward to tomorrow’s workout. The next step in the X2 journey.

Ah Recovery

Those smart people at Beachbody. Now I’m beginning to understand the idea of the two days hard, one day recover, three days on, one day recover. That’s right. I’m still feeling the effects of the start of Phase two with Chest Back and Balance plus the Ab ripper. Ooofph. Today I can say: Ah Recovery and Mobility.

Doesn’t mean that I’m not looking forward to the next set of workouts. However, I’m likely to be modifying them a lot due to a trip. Hopefully I can get in some workouts, it remains to be seen.

Thus if you don’t see posts, you’ll know why.

Always Look At The Plyocide Of Life

Day two of the second phase of the X2 journey. It’s more of the plyometric style of workout. I got much further through it as I was going this time. Keeping up with the peeps like Roberto, Traci, and Tony. Still having to pause once in a while, but I’m nearly on par with them now. Kinda makes me think it’s good to always look at the plyocide of life.

The fact that I’m pushing a little harder makes me feel good about it. But it was a little slow getting started today. Mostly due to the upper body workout from yesterday. Whew. I’m feeling Chest Back and Balance today. My oh my.

Onward and forward. I need to get my breakfast gig on. I think I’m going to be making some egg cups this morning. Power breakfast. Then it’s on to the ski hill for some X2 Skiing. Two workouts in a day.

Come on and join the journey! Then you’ll always look at the plyocide of life and get a kick out of it.

X2 Phase Two Chest Back Balance Plus Ab Ripper

Let me start by writing: Holy Cow!

That’s what was running through my head during this workout. I have a very distinct feeling that tomorrow I am really going to be feeling the X2 phase two chest back balance plus ab ripper workout in a very big way.

Today marks the start of the next phase of the journey in P90X2. I’ve been looking forward to it. My oh my. I thought getting started in P90X was hard early last year. Even phase one wasn’t all that big of a deal. Now the burners are turning on and I’m feeling like a noobie all over again.

There are several moves that are like – what the fuck?!? – Especially the L pullups, and the crunch curl pull up (I think that was the name). Wow. Talk about super hard. I’m not good at pullups as it is and unlike P90X, I’m attempting to do as many as I can with zero assist. This means my reps have gone way down.

There’s another move, an pushup type of move with your feet elevated and you’re on a med ball with your hands. I did 1. Yes, that’s 1. I can do decline diamond pushups, but wow, this one was harder.

I am noticing more changes in my body in less time that it took with P90X. Thus I will say P90X2 is way more awesome. Do I think I will see even bigger changes in Phase Two? Uh, yeah. That would be an understatement.

I did take my 30 day pics today. I can’t wait to see the changes as they occur over the 90 days.

For those readers who are on the fence about getting into P90X, or who have done P90X and are looking to get into P90X2 – what are you waiting for? Get with it and then you can explain to someone why you have done the X2 phase two chest back balance plus ab ripper workout and felt good about it, despite starting with low numbers.

Tomorrow marks the next step. I can’t wait. Hopefully my body will be ready.

Recovery Week Ends Phase One Of P90X2

You know, I never thought I would see changes in my body so quickly. I’ve done P90X twice last year and while I saw a transformation it’s not a drastic as the one I’ve seen in the last 30 days. That’s nothing short of extraordinary. I’m happy that this recovery week ends phase one of P90X2.

Tomorrow begins the 2nd leg of the journey. Phase two. In looking at the first part, it appears to be similar to P90X. I’m sure the subtle difference is going to produce miles of results.

Lets see what happens.

Are you on the journey? Where are you at? What are your experiences?

X2 Yoga Ending Week Four

Today marks the last time through Yoga X2 for the recovery week of Phase one. I’m really beginning to see body changes in this first third of P90X2. That’s truly remarkable. I’m happy to see these changes occur. Have to put a thank you out to Tony, Carl and all the Beachbody peeps that brought this program to life. In a way it’s sad to see X2 yoga ending week four, but I’m really looking forward to phase two.

Stay tuned. The Journey continues.
