Plyocide Has Been Plyo-Flied

Mmmm… Jumping around and around and around. Another day where I didn’t get my workout in early. This time due to waking up late for a meeting. The trials and tribulations of a musician, right? Late night, not good sleep = sleeping in to make sure I get rested. Oops. Good thing it wasn’t a money meeting. No, it was an organizational meeting for a music festival (that’s all I’m gonna say about it). Doesn’t matter, Plyocide has been Plyo-flied.

I flew threw it today. I sweated more too. I’m still pushing harder. Less pausing of the disc to catch my breath in between the moves is a good thing. The one move I’m still not real keen on is the Frog Burpee Jump. I did get them all in, but I’m not fond of that one. I used to dislike the Mary Katherines with a med ball, but I’m fine with that now.

Drip drip drip. That was me at the end of it all. A few minutes to shower and rest and its back on with the day. More music to make. Then time to blow a little steam off. The best part is, I’m still feeling the energy now that Plyocide has been Plyo-flied.

Feeling The Total Body And Abs

I really enjoyed getting my stretch and foam rolling on yesterday. By yesterday afternoon I was actually feeling the remnants of the plyocide workout in my hamstrings. Wow. It’s so odd to have a workout catch up to you a day later. Today I was getting into feeling the total body and abs workout.

I pushed it pretty hard in the first half. I was feeling really good. Did the most unassisted pullups I’ve ever done, that was a great sensation. The hardest thing this time around was the boing pushups. My first time through P90X2 90 days ago, I did not have a large stability ball. Thus I was doing a modified version then. These were hard. Such that my reps were very low. The bonus of that is, the only way to go from here is up.

A weight increase also happened for a lot of the moves. Despite the weight increase I was also doing more reps in most moves. Which means that next week, I’ll likely increase the weight a bit more.

Ab ripper X2. Need I say more? Seems my core or rather my abs have missed this workout. I kept up with most of it, but there were some moves where I had to let go a little early. I think by next week, I’ll be back in full swing on the abs.

I wonder if I’ll be feeling the total body and abs workout tomorrow or the day after tomorrow? Who knows. I’m sure it will be a wild ride either way. Looking forward to that goal of a perfect flat belly with no fat on it. So close. So close. Time for some Shakeology, Yum.

Living The Plyocide Of Plyolife

Ah, how I missed the idea of jumping around for a workout. Ok, maybe I’m lying a little bit. Today is the return to one of the hard workouts for me. Bring on the sweat cause I’m living the plyocide of plyolife.

Happiness is that I did not bonk in this workout. Doesn’t mean plyocide has gotten easier. No. Actually I pushed myself harder to keep up on all the moves. About halfway through I needed to start pausing in-between moves due to the fact that I started getting winded. I attribute that to pushing myself on each move to go above and beyond.

I want to see what kind of things will change in this 2nd journey through the P90X2 system if I go a little more extreme on the moves. Keeping up is no longer the goal, the goal is to go beyond.

This is my 4th time through a beachbody workout regimen. No longer about being in shape. It’s becoming a complete change in how I’m living. The original goal of getting in shape and working for looking good naked – along with a flat belly is within reach. I imagine that I’ll have the flat belly in less than 90 days from now. I can’t wait. It’s a wonderful feeling. That’s the drive.

Once I can push Plyocide to the extreme and not pause the DVD, I’ll be a really happy camper. Until that happens, I’m happy to be living the plyocide of plyolife.

PAP Upper Equals Hard

What does today mark for me? It marks the day that I have now seen all of the P90X2 videos. Day two of the 3rd phase in the X2 journey has commenced and been finished. To put it mildly I will say that PAP Upper equals hard. I’m not sure it’s due to the impromptu workout my arms got yesterday or if it really is that hard, but PAP Upper is the one workout so far that really worked my arms to fail.

Now mind you, I know that Plyocide was probably that one workout that pushed me to the point of bonk. Today I didn’t bonk, but I found points in the workout where I literally could not keep up. Unlike yesterday where it was more of me learning the routine. Today it was learning the routine, but also sheer difficulty.

The Plyo Med Ball Sphinx thing is probably on par with being the most difficult move like yesterday’s Side Bridge move. I know I’m shape, but good God they are hard to hold. I imagine in 2 weeks from now I will be able to hold these moves without issue.

Time for a kick ass organic meal and nice healthy fruit smoothie shake. Then it’s into the studio to be crafting more music. Oh, and I’m awaiting word from Apple as to why my iCloud account is not sending info to the outside world.

If you haven’t made it this far into the P90X2 journey, you’ve got something great to look forward to. Something that will push you like you won’t believe.  I was diggin deep into my mind to hold moves as long as I possibly could. Even for being in shape PAP Upper equals hard as workouts go. Getting That Plyocide I Mean Plyolife

Ah yeah, Plyocide. Last week, if you can recall, I ended up bonking out in the middle of the workout. I’m pretty darn sure it was due to a couple of things. One, being on the road and not getting the same amount of nutrition as I normally would. I wasn’t eating bad, just not to my potential. Two, a lack of sleep. I normally have a schedule that is shifted from most people. I go to bed late, but I also get between seven to eight hours of sleep. Usually eight. When I’m doing that I’m getting that Plyocide I mean Plyolife type of workout without bonking out.

Today was full on. I was keeping up. I nailed all the moves. I brought it and brought it 110%. No bonking. I did get winded a few times. Apart from that it was as strong as I’ve ever felt doing any kind of plyo type workout.

When you’re feeling this good it’s amazing what you feel like you can accomplish. I know I’m going to push the next workout. I can feel it already. May mean that I’ll move into the Phase Three sooner than I anticipated.

Have you been getting that Plyocide I mean Plyolife into your day? Are you pushing it? Are you phoning it in? Let’s get you into the discussion, let me know how your workouts are going. Join me in my NRG.

Bonking In Plyocide

Oh the humanity. Today marked my first time bonking in a P90X2 workout. That’s a little disappointing. Mostly because I haven’t bonked in a workout in a loooooooooong time. Great thing is I really pushed it hard. So while I ended up throwing up after the first plyocide workout in P90X2, this marks my first bonking in plyocide.

Sadly I was really doing well too. Keeping up. Means I have to make sure I’m really getting all the nutrition and energy I need. It’s a little tough while on the road, and maybe this is a residual effect of last week’s out of town trip. I’m not sure.

What I do know is that I’m still going to continue onward and upward with tomorrow’s recovery and mobility section. The journey hasn’t ended just because I couldn’t finish a workout. Hell no, I was pushing it harder than I have before and suddenly found a wall. A wall that will come down. I will overcome.

Are you getting your workouts in? Do you give up when you hit a wall? Do you take it in stride and continue on the next day? If not, you should be.

It’s better to have bonked than not done it at all. Saying so long and thanks for bonking in plyocide, I’m over and out to get some nutrition. See ya tomorrow.

Always Look At The Plyocide Of Life

Day two of the second phase of the X2 journey. It’s more of the plyometric style of workout. I got much further through it as I was going this time. Keeping up with the peeps like Roberto, Traci, and Tony. Still having to pause once in a while, but I’m nearly on par with them now. Kinda makes me think it’s good to always look at the plyocide of life.

The fact that I’m pushing a little harder makes me feel good about it. But it was a little slow getting started today. Mostly due to the upper body workout from yesterday. Whew. I’m feeling Chest Back and Balance today. My oh my.

Onward and forward. I need to get my breakfast gig on. I think I’m going to be making some egg cups this morning. Power breakfast. Then it’s on to the ski hill for some X2 Skiing. Two workouts in a day.

Come on and join the journey! Then you’ll always look at the plyocide of life and get a kick out of it.

Plyocide Or Plyo Life

Plyocide or Plyo Life inside of week 3 in the X2 journey. That’s where today is. Mostly due to the fact that I added an X2 day of skiing yesterday. I know X2 Skiing isn’t in the program, but with the way I ski, it ought to be. The beauty is, I’m skiing harder than I have in a few years. I’m pushing faster and harder turns than I can remember. It’s a beautiful thing.

I had a mogul run yesterday that reminded me of my competitive days. Difference is, I was pounding rather than riding. Made me miss the glory of competition. Especially with how today’s competitors have nice straight lines to turn through and pre-built jumps. Doesn’t get much easier than that.

With Plyocide today, I found myself hitting the pause button a little more often than last week. Not because I wasn’t able to keep up. No, this time I was hitting pause because I was pushing it harder and harder. Meaning I was keeping up, and extending myself. The extra pauses were to keep myself in check and forego the possibility of what happened in week one.

I’m really getting into now. Thanks Tony.

Time to go get my organic breakfast on. Then finish up a new song or two. What will you do?

Plyocide 2nd Time Around

Like any workout, to more you continue it, the better it gets. Same goes for the Plyocide workout. Last week as I mentioned it was deceptively hard and I ended up going so hard that my body retaliated in a way.

This time around I got through the workout without the retaliation. That’s a big plus. Doesn’t mean it didn’t kick my ass, it did. What’s good is that I’m already getting used to it and my body is getting in better shape.

I’m looking forward to the next workout in a couple of days.

Plyocide Day Two

Let me start by saying yesterday’s adventure was awesome. Getting back into the swing after taking a month off from working out. It was a good start. Today was Plyocide. The first thing I’m noticing is that P90X2 appears to have much longer intros to warming up. Foam rollers seem to be the long part and the most strange.

Getting into Plyocide was much like the regular Plyo from P90X. However, instead of repeating everything, each part is a little longer in time and little more intense. By halfway through the workout I was getting pretty wiped out. Nearing the end, I found out exactly what Recovery Drink ends up tasting like when it comes back out.

That’s right. I ended up hurling. X2 is deceptive. It appears to be easy, but man oh man. It sneaks up on you about half way, by the end you’re dripping in sweat and wondering what just happened. I had to hit pause a couple of times to catch my breath. Can’t wait to get this all the way through without a pause. Give it a couple of weeks.

On to tomorrow which is a rest day.
