After a couple of extra days to end my first week of Phase Two, I’m back at it and going for full blast. Unlike last week, I pushed for more reps. Which is something that made me think, hmmm… Dare I say it’s harder than last time? Yes, I do. Which means that my second chest back and balance including abs workout wasn’t like last time.
First, I decided that I would do some of the reps with assists to see if I could get the numbers up. This proved to be more difficult. Meaning I didn’t get as many as I would have hoped to get in. By the end of the workout I was pushing it and realized that I didn’t get nearly as many unassisted. Strange.
I was really hurting in the pullup department. Not sure why. This time around it was a major struggle. That’s a slight blow to the ego. Hopefully next week will prove that I can get some of those unassisted reps back. At least I’m gonna push for that.
I did go for some of the bonus moves this week. The first bonus move, I got 2 reps. Yikes. The second bonus move I sat out. The third one, I went for it, got into the move and didn’t get out. Holy cow! Talk about hard at the end of a workout.
The Ab Ripper X2 at the end of the workout this time wasn’t so bad. I’m finally getting to the point that I’m keeping up with the moves, except for Abernome (spelling?) that one is still a little tough to keep up with.
All in all, it was a good workout. I may actually stick with Phase two for an extra week, unless next week goes spectacularly. But at the ending of my second chest back and balance including abs workout in Phase Two of the X2 Journey, I’m definitely feeling it!
X it, x it, x it, but not exit. Nope, it’s midway through week 3 of the X2 journey. Today marked the 3rd time through the X2 Total Body plus Ab Ripper workout. This time around I increased the weight in all the weighted exercises.
Overall it was an improvement. There was only one move where I did not match last week’s numbers. The Crunch Lever Pull-up thing. I was 1 less in both rounds on that one. Otherwise all other numbers increased and the weight was upped as well.
The bonus is, I’m feeling stronger and my balance is getting even better. I also notice that I’m standing taller. I never noticed it before though others have said it. Now I’m noticing it. Very strange.
The other night I got to see Stars On Ice. During intermission I decided to go get a snack. Being that I had on the ice seats, I wanted to sprint the stairs up the arena to the snack area. Easily done, not winded. Awesome.
The Ab Ripper part is still a little tough, new moves that are a tad harder. Otherwise, I can tell there’s an increase in core strength too.
Off to have an awesome breakfast and nourish the body. How did your X2 Total Body plus Ab Ripper week 3 go? Are you there yet? Have you been there?
This morning marks my 3rd time going through a BeachBody workout regimen. This time around it’s the new program. I took some pictures and measurements before the start of the workout this morning. Thus the P90X2 journey begins for me today.
I got started feeling brilliant. By halfway through I was really beginning to feel it. The hard part about the X2 Core workout is the “form”. The idea in X2 is to make sure the form is good. Considering the balance of the exercises, I can really understand why.
At the end of the workout, I was sweating and thinking to myself, really?!? The moves don’t seem that hard, but they’re deceiving. They are hard, especially with the number of reps. While I could keep up through most of the moves, towards the end I found that I was starting to bonk. I’m sure once I get into this full swing – it’ll be rockin.
